That depends entirely on the program that was used to create
them in the first place. Many current word processors, like
Microsoft Word, include conversions that may, in fact, simply
open the files with all the formatting intact. If you have
access to something like Word (or WordPerfect, or Open Office,
or many others) I would try it.
