Remote access software is a part of Windows, and allows you to
run things like the remote assistance feature, or remote desktop.

I would start with the system file checker:

if that doesn't resolve the issue, I'd perform a repair install of Windows:
http://ask-leo.com/how_should_i_reinstall_windows.html
being sure to backup first.

After your system is stable, I would also seriously consider installing
SP2.
