Well, you should be able to download and reinstall SP2, I don't
get why it's telling you auto-updates only. Download here:

You didn't mention whether you've run anti-spyware and/or anti-virus
checks. I'd strongly recommend updated runs of both - both viruses
and spyware like to mess around with IE.
