In general keeping an older version, such as 2003, up-to-date
will detect the same viruses as the newer version (also kept
up-to-date). What you'll miss out on are any feature additions
that the newer version has. Not sure what that might be, but
I'd check the Norton AV website for info.
In both cases what really matters is keeping the databases
up-to-date one way or another.
