Make sure that when you search you enable searching for hidden
files.

OE normally puts email in a directory like this:
c:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\
Application Data\Identities\{LONG-UGLY-NUMBER-THING}\
Microsoft\Outlook Express

Where "USERNAME" is the Windows Account name, and "LONG-UGLY-NUMBER-THING"
is a long string of what appear to be random numbers, letters and dashes.
Perhaps using the old account name you can just go there to find them.

Thanks for asking,

Leo
