It really depends on just what kind of file you're downloading.
As the error states, Windows (apparently) doesn't have software
installed that recognizes that particulary type of file. OR it
may have the software installed, but not "know" that that's the
software to use for this particular type of file.

What software is required, and how you tell windows that, as I said,
really depends on exactly what it is you're trying to download.
